School of Marxism currently has 32 full-time teachers and 26 part-time teachers, 7 of which are professors and 16 associate professors, 48 have Master’s degree and 7 Doctor’s degree.

Since 2006, the teaching faculty have undertaken more than 100 teaching and research projects funded by China’s Ministry of Education, Anhui Province and Anhui Provincial Department of Education respectively, which have led to considerable achievements in Marxist philosophy, Chinese philosophy, ethics, law, ideological and political education and other disciplines, over 10 academic works and more than 200 papers published in national core journals and provincial academic journals, as well as multiple provincial and municipal education and research achievement awards.

In order to practice HFU’s school-running orientation of “serving local economic and social development”, implement the spirit of the 19th NCCPC, and comprehensively publicize the great achievements made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core in the practice and theoretical construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics since the 18th NCCPC, the school has organized full-time teachers to “bring theory to the grassroots”, which has been witnessed by more than 450 lectures in Hefei City since September 2017 delivered by all the full-time ideological and political teachers.

In recent years, School of Marxism has carried out a series of teaching reforms. In line with  the characteristics of ideological and political theory courses, the faculty have set up the goal to enable students to truly love and benefit from the courses and keep the learning of the courses for active cultivation and practice of their core socialist values. The “passionate teaching” integrating music and songs into ideological and political theory courses, has the tremendous effect, which has been listed as one of the 8 teaching innovations of ideological and political courses in Anhui Province, and reported twice by Anhui Daily. Besides, the School has constructed a new ideological and political courses teaching model of an online theory-practice-network platform and corresponding evaluation systems.

The systematic reform and innovation have been recognized and commended by peers and authorities. In 2014, the School was approved as a “Famous Teachers’ Studio for Promoting Core Values” in Anhui Province; in 2020, it was approved as one of the first batch of Hefei Publicity and Culture Masters Studios (Social Science Theory); in 2020 “Hefei Party History Research Base” was jointly built by the School and Research Office of the Party History and Local Chronicles of Hefei Municipal Committee of CPC; in 2020, Publicity Department of the CPC Provincial Committee approved the establishment of “Hefei University Research Base of Anhui Research Center of Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” in the School.
